Prize Distribution of Essay Competition at Gracia de Orta

Over the last few weeks a total of 1550 essays have been received so far from school children and in the open category. Of these, 1460 essays were submitted through hard copies, 42 essays were submitted online through the mygov.in website and 16 essays were received via the Panaji Smart City gmail account.  The winners were announced earlier this evening at an event held at Garcia de Orta gardens in Panaji and received the prize at the hands of Shubham Chodankar, Mayor and Sanjit Rodrigues, Commissioner of the city of Panaji.

Jasmine Singh from Mary Immaculate Girls High School won the first place, with Sanghvi Naik from Sharada Mandir coming in second and Ayush Amonkar from Mushtifund High School coming in third. Consolation prizes were given to Keziah Pereira from Our lady of Rosary and Tarini D’souza from Sharada Mandir

The first prize winner received a cash prize of Rs 5000/- while the second and third prize winners received Rs 3000/- and Rs 2000/- each.

Largely schools in an around Panaji participated in the essay competition which was announced on the www.mygov.in portal. The participating schools included Mushtifund Middle and High School, Kasturba Matoshri High School, Rosary High School, Bal Bharati High School, Dr. K.B Hedgewar High School, Shardha Mandir High School, Green Rosary High School, T.B. Cunha Govt HSS, Mary Immaculate High School, Don Bosco College, S.S. Dempo College and Aims HSS.
